The program approach of CCD covers a large scale of specific activities to ensure creating designed impact on the target communities. It is based on the theme of development through participation. Each of CCD programs directly or indirectly supports the sustainable   development, health improvement and socio- economic uplift of the masses.

Currently CCD has its working on the following areas:

o    Social Mobilization and Advocacy
o    Women and children development


EDUCATION
Illiteracy is one of the basic causes for social backwardness. Balochistan is the least educated Province of Pakistan where literacy rate is low as compared with other provinces and the situation is even worse in rural areas.
 
Education is one of the basic programs of CCD. The organization is contributing its most efforts for the support of education focusing on primary and girl’s education.
The access to primary education for the whole community is not easy and possible as children are the major source of income. CCD would strive to impart quality education and enhance the literacy rate in Balochistan.
 
Program objectives 
a)    To provide healthy environment in schools
b)    To increase literacy rate
c)    To increase enrolment of the students specially girls 
d)    To monitor the schools by imparting quality education.
Program approaches
•    Assisting teachers and Parents Education Committees (PECs)
•    School visits and meetings with PECs. Assistance need assessments of teachers
•    Transfer of funds to school on time, enrolment of students, purchase and provision of school material.


COMMUNITY PHYSICAL INFRASTRUCTURE 
Community Physical infrastructure is a requirement for the development of a society. In Balochistan, community physical infrastructure is in terrible condition, and particularly the rural areas are destitute of basic facilities like sanitation and clean drinking water and means of commutation.

DISASTER RELEIF 
Balochistan has a vast area which is always vulnerable to various natural disasters. Due to that CCD has expertise and has allocated funds for different emergency responses.
In this regard, CCD is has implemented a project with UNHCR-PDMA in an ORS project. The main objective of the project was construction of 375 permanent shelters for flood victims of Jaffarabad and Naseerabad. The project was completed in record time period of 3 months in the year 2011.

CCD, keeping all other aspects of social work in view, has kept the emergency sector on top priority not only to lift up its worth but primarily to help the humanity.

HEALTH & AFGHAN REFUGEES
After the soviet invasion of Afghanistan, the refuges influx in Pakistan especially in Balochistan brought the situation at its worst. The affects and bad impacts of refugees’ influx on education, health, public infrastructure, and as whole on society came to be seen in those areas even after a long time. Comparatively, liberal society got changed into a conservative and fundamentalist one.  
The health status of the population in refuges affected areas is also very poor. Diseases like polio, hepatitis and even HIV/AIDS are reported. Mother and child health sector is also not in satisfactory condition. CCD aims at bringing improvements and sharing its contribution in RAHA selected areas such as in U/C Chilgazi and Padag of DistrictChaghai. 
 

Program objectives
The project aims to improve the health of women, girls and infants.  Its specific objectives are:
a)    Expanding basic women’s health interventions to underserved populations in the      refuges affected areas.

b)    Strengthen the capacity of institutional and human resources to improve women’s health in the long term

Program approaches 
•    Construction of labor room, boundary wall, laboratory for BHU kani U/C chilgazi.
•    Provision of water and sanitation facility in BHU.
•    Rehabilitation/ repair of Health unit Kani and Padag.
•    Provision of basic furniture and equipments to BHU kani and Padag.
•    Training of staff
•    Community / CO meetings and training
•    5 days trainings for 10 TBAs and health services providers.


SOCIAL MOBILIZATION AND ADVOCACY
Social Mobilization is usually included in CCD’s project so that make sure the participation of communities in projects. CCD was the first organization that carried out session on sensitive issues like HIV/AIDS in Panjgur, Turbat and Gawadar. CCD had meetings and sessions with various sections of the society such as religious groups, fishermen, truck drivers, health department staffs, youths, sports club members, students and others. People from all these sections of the society were mobilized on the above said components. Besides, CCD has done advocacy and social mobilization on social change, behavior change, tolerance in the society and good healthy practices in terms of promotion of brotherhood and development initiatives in the society. Another project on HIV/AIDS with the financial support of Inter Act Worldwide and Pakistan Network of AIDS Consortium (PNAC) on social mobilization was also done by CCD in District Panjgur. Through this, the community was mobilized. The organization had social mobilization with 300 people in one and half year. Through this, CCD trained and promoted 300 out of school youths as peer educators on HIVAIDS and socially transmitted diseases (STIs).

DEMOCRACY
A project on Human rights, Democracy and voter rights implemented by CCD and funded by UNDP/NEP National Elections in Pakistan in 2008.  The programs, sessions , political dialogues , interactive theatre groups, seminars and other activities  with youths , political parties and general population were carried out  It was on the component of advocacy and social mobilization. It was one of the successful projects during the election in Balochitan as all Nationalist groups were opposing the election and were not allowing the NGOs and Government departments for participation in such activities but CCD conducted the project successfully.
